   It took 3 hours for 3 courses for 3 people - service incredibly slow, and our party didn’t order anything that required active cooking: cioppino, braised lamb, shank, soups and salads are all items that don’t take much time to get out of the kitchen. The server offered that the kitchen was very busy, but the restaurant was only 75% full. Other service issues were a salad appetizer that they forgot to put in, which we had to ask for even after the other two members of the party had received their bisque, the wrong wine order being put in, and another wine being forgotten about, and proper tools for opening shellfish needing to be requested when the cioppino came out with a whole langostine on top of it. As for the food itself, the lamb and bisque were good, but the bread, lava cake and cheesecake were obviously not house made, just warmed up and plated. The cioppino was a bit of a mess - if someone orders a seafood stew, having to dig around in the stew to break up a langostine is really messy and off putting . The cioppino also had huge nearly whole tomatoes in it, a surprise pile of mashed potatoes (what?), and lacked the characteristic garlic and fennel flavours of a cioppino. A mess of a dish that had more characteristics of a New England style chowder than a traditional cioppino. The value for money was terrible - this experience cost $270.00 - and I see no need to ever return. There are so many better places in this city to spend this amount of money on dinner. Try DOSC or Bündok instead.

   Prime rib was re-heated. Fatty and overcooked. Others steaks at our table were definitely not the sizes indicated. Twice baked potatoes were dry and had sat for too long

   Ate at Von's before a show at the Citadel. Was very quiet early on a Tuesday evening. Food was good, both steaks cooked according to order. This is now our favourite steak house in Edmonton.

   Von's is fantastic. Second time we have been there and the quality and service were great both times. Had the surf and turf along with rolls.

   Food was excellent (oysters, mushroom dip and surf & turf) We were sat right beside where the staff puts in their bar order so it was busy. We were interacting with the staff so we had fun with it. But, If we were looking for a quiet romantic dinner the table would have been off putting

   Ordered 24 oysters and it still wasn’t enough! High quality fresh oysters make Von’s worth it, never mind the incredible quality of the Ribeye. Cannot say we ought about this place! Cheers Don.

    We called to book a few days before Valentines Day, and we received a phone call on Valentines days to confirm the time the hostesses made it very clear that We're only aloud 2 hours . We got the 2 hour window, but it wasn't busy at all . The hostesses hover or us steady feel pressure to get out . We want to have a drink after dinner for Valentines with my wife and felt the $260.00 + tip dinner bill should've been more respectful than pressuring us to get out . The hostesses was horrible , the server was fantastic. The meal was OK, but the steak was like chewing on rubber . I expected more from Vons restaurant after going there that absolutely warning you'll pay for really not very good meal . Fair warning over rated reputation. Not very good for the price .
