Chef Tyler Florence brings his passion for high quality and style to San Francisco with his new flagship restaurant, Wayfare Tavern. A classic San Francisco Tavern featuring authentic American dishes inspired by local cuisine at the turn of the 20th century, the menu ranges from classic comforts to rustic delicacies. The beverage menu features locally-sourced wines including a selection of Florence's own label, quality draft beers and organic root beer as well as classic Victorian-era cocktails.

All three floors of the restaurant have been designed keeping historical accuracy in mind making Wayfare Tavern reminiscent of a Victorian parlor and an Edwardian men's club, where anything goes from black-tie to blue jeans. Pull up a stool to the Chef's Counter at the open kitchen and look on as Chef prepares your lunch or head to the Library and Billiard Room for a game of pool. Celebrate New Year's Eve at Wayfare Tavern’s multi-level bash! We are opening the entire Restaurant including the private rooms for you to celebrate the New Year - and we are pulling out all the stops. Start on the main floor with a welcome drink, live jazz, passed appetizers, and dancing by the fireplace. Visit the second floor’s Buck Bar for cocktails, seafood towers, carving stations, and pool. On the third floor, enjoy martinis, live music and charcuterie in the Bartlett Room. The Sequoia Room in the Penthouse transforms into a disco with DJs and a full bar to dance in the New Year. For the Sequoia Christmas pop up - drinks were good enough, although nothing special from the holiday drinks. Our server would not leave us alone. He would ask if we wanted a drink or a snack and when we would tell him we needed a few minutes, he came back in 90 seconds. When we said we would ultimately need a second drink once we finished our first, he said he could put in the order for the second…. …in a place that was barely half full. I felt really pressured to make an order and to leave ASAP.

We had an incredible experience at the holiday speakeasy pop-up tonight! The cider came in an adorable gingerbread man mug that was very Instagrammable. Also, the snacks were so good. My favorite was the fried oysters and the churros. Definitely recommend for a cute and lovely holiday themed evening!

I brought my daughter and 2 granddaughters. The food was amazing, the service excellent. Yes expect to spend some money; but it was worth it.

Beef tartar had great flavor and the beef cheek stroganoff is rich and tender. Will definitely come back to just enjoy a burger at the bar!

Wayfare Tavern has been consistently good for many years. The holiday pop-up in the Sequoia Room was no different. A really fun and intimate holiday scene with creative and festive cocktails. The small bites were delicious and paired well with the seasonal cocktails. Will definitely keep an eye out for similar events.

The speakeasy popup was lackluster. Long wait to sit down despite having a reservation. Lite bites took over an hour to arrive (with part of the order having never made it despite the server checking for us twice). Drinks also took a while. Great concept but execution needs significant improvement.
