Chef Tyler Florence brings his passion for high quality and style to San Francisco with his new flagship restaurant, Wayfare Tavern. A classic San Francisco Tavern featuring authentic American dishes inspired by local cuisine at the turn of the 20th century, the menu ranges from classic comforts to rustic delicacies. The beverage menu features locally-sourced wines including a selection of Florence's own label, quality draft beers and organic root beer as well as classic Victorian-era cocktails.

All three floors of the restaurant have been designed keeping historical accuracy in mind making Wayfare Tavern reminiscent of a Victorian parlor and an Edwardian men's club, where anything goes from black-tie to blue jeans. Pull up a stool to the Chef's Counter at the open kitchen and look on as Chef prepares your lunch or head to the Library and Billiard Room for a game of pool.                                             The service was horrible. Waited 15 minutes before our server came over to us and when he did he didn’t even take our drink order. We ended up ordering everything at once because it had been 20 minutes of sitting around with nothing. The Mac n cheese was a great texture but lacked flavor. The butter lettuce salad was AMAZING, everything was on point with the it and the dressing was full of flavor 10/10. The burgers were good, but nothing special in my opinion 8/10. My mojito tasted like tonic water and rum. Zero flavor it was horrible. 0/10. The service was that really deserved a low review. He didn’t deliver the food nor did he ever come by and check on us after it arrived. He didn’t give us a dessert menu let alone even offer because the next time we saw him was after we flagged him for the check after being done with our food for well over 20 minutes. It was ridiculous. 0/10 (his other tables were also having to flag him down for checks)

                                            For the Sequoia Christmas pop up - drinks were good enough, although nothing special from the holiday drinks. Our server would not leave us alone. He would ask if we wanted a drink or a snack and when we would tell him we needed a few minutes, he came back in 90 seconds. When we said we would ultimately need a second drink once we finished our first, he said he could put in the order for the second…. …in a place that was barely half full. I felt really pressured to make an order and to leave ASAP.

                                            We had an incredible experience at the holiday speakeasy pop-up tonight! The cider came in an adorable gingerbread man mug that was very Instagrammable. Also, the snacks were so good. My favorite was the fried oysters and the churros. Definitely recommend for a cute and lovely holiday themed evening!
