Wendell’s Steak and Seafood Restaurant is the Inn of the Mountain Gods Resort and Casino's signature dining establishment located on the 4th floor. Wendell's features succulent dishes of fresh seafood, aged steaks, scrumptious desserts and offer an impressive wine list. The restaurant and lounge feature spectacular views of Sierra Blanca, the Sacramento Mountains, Lake Mescalero and our 18-hole Championship Golf Course.

Wendell's Lounge is adjacent to the restaurant where we offer delicious appetizers along with our signature martinis, margaritas and cocktails.

Note to guests: During our reopening stage, we will be featuring menus with a limited number of our most popular culinary selections. We look forward to seeing the return of some familiar faces and to welcoming new guests.

The quality seemed fine but was delivered to our table cold. Steaks were cold and all of the sides were cold. The soup however was delicious.

Went for the Thanksgiving brunch menu. Had a 2:30 reservation, checked in at the desk at 2:15 and they skipped us. Wasn’t seated until 2:45 and they stopped seating at 3. It was a huge buffet with real nice choices, but you could tell most of it had been out awhile . Filled my plate, got back to the table and everything was cold. Have you ever had cold duck confit wrapped in cabbage…don’t. The portion of slow roasted tri citrus and garlic beef picanha that I received was half fat, flavorless and cold. The only thing on my plate that was good was the giant boiled shrimp, which were ice cold as they should be…only because they were piled inside an ice sculpture. The only other thing that was not cold was the ambrosia, which was warm for some reason. The desert choices were plentiful but underwhelming. At $95 a plate it was the most disappointing expensive food experience I have ever had. The place was packed from beginning to end so good for them. The service was good except the hostess station that skipped us, but they seemed to be overwhelmed running the front and clearing tables. I highly recommend The Broken Arrow instead (same hotel) Had an amazing chicken fried steak there the night before.

The food was excellent! Service was also great. Scott made sure we had what we needed and was very friendly. We will definitely be back.

Messed up on my order but did give us a discount. Drinks were good but 0 presentation. Need to work on presentation and service. Lady was very nice but very slow. Good food for Ruidoso but not comparable to major cities at all.

Not a busy night but food took much longer than it should have. Braised Bison short rib was dry and tough to chew. The mushrooms on the dish were the best part.

I made this reservation at Wendell's for our wedding anniversary and made sure to note this was the reason for the reservation. We arrived 5 minutes before our reservation and was checked in by the hostess. She told us to have a seat then checked in a couple after us. After a few minutes, she let me know that the only table available was a table right in front of the musician but that it's can be loud. I asked if there were other options as we were celebrating our anniversary and would like to be able to hear our conversation. She said there wasn't so we obliged. As we walked to our table, I noticed a booth, 2 tables that could seat for and a large table in the back that were open. I asked if we could take either of those tables and the hostess said there were for a 10 group. Shortly, after sitting us, she sat the couple who checked in after us at one of the tables I asked about. I was upset especially since when our waiter came by, he couldn't even hear our order because of the noise. We asked to be moved and they eventually moved us to one of the table I had inquired about. I could tell the waitress in our new section was annoyed we were moved to her area and it seemed she intentionally ignored us for several minutes before acknowledging us. When she came, she didn't seem friendly or ask if we were celebrating anything. Just straight to business and if we were ready to order. We didn't even get our drinks until 30 minutes after our original seating and food 1 hour later. The couple that was seated after us received everything promptly. It wasn't until we got our check that the waitress made sure to point out that she realized it was our anniversary on the reservation and comped our dessert as if she wanted to make sure we knew she went our of her way for us. While the food was good, this experience with the staff made this a not so special dinner. Oh and that party of 10 never arrived in the 1.5 hours it took for our dinner.
