From the kitchen to the bar, everything we serve is defined by a passion for exploring unique flavor combinations. Wood is more than a name: our wood-fired oven is at the heart of it all, enhancing a dynamic menu of small-plate, American fare, made with the peak midwest farm produce each season has to offer. Though the dishes regularly change, they are defined by a few constants: meat is butchered in-house from humanely-raised animals; vegetables are drawn from local family farms; and all pastas and sausages are freshly made. Lead by our talented Executive Chef Devin Kreller, who is a 6-time Michelin Bib Gourmand winner, Chef Devin uses French-dominated cooking techniques combined with multicultural inspirations such as Asian and Italian to create new dishes.

Good is amazing, but be picky about who serves you. Our server almost ruined our valentines with his disgusting attitude.

I really enjoyed this meal. We went for Valentine’s Day and the service was really good. The portions are pretty small but the steak frites and pesto spaghetti were so good.

This was our first time dining here and safe to say all of the food was incredible and service was relatively quick and effortless even on a busy Valentine’s Day/Friday night. Steak tartare was delicious and the lamb shoulder and Wood’s KFC dishes were to die for. We will absolutely be back.

Wow. I don't know where to start. We have been to this restaurant many times and always had a great time. However, this past experience has been unbelievable. The manager Josephine Ho is extremely rude and we would NEVER return here even if paid to go. My husband and I were in Chicago for my mother's funeral. We went to the restaurant to escape the emotions I was experiencing. I also was battling flu like symptoms. We were only at the restaurant 10 minutes and I was feeling very ill and told our waiter that I needed to leave. We didn't even drink our drinks or get our appetizer. We asked the server to wrap the appetizer and cancel the entrees. He agreed. The next day my spouse realized that we were charged $202.30 -- the complete meal. We were never offered to take the entrees with us and we were charged and also charged a gratuity on the meals. I called several times and Josephine was never around. Then I emailed her and this was the response I received... Hi Bryan, I was the manager on duty during your dine with us that evening. I was informed by my staff, your server, that either you or your husband was heavily intoxicated during the first 10-mins of your seating. I gave the staff the okay to pack your food to go, since you asked to leave, but a refund was not able to be initiated because the food was already made. Please do not accuse my staff of including gratuity for himself as there was a signed receipt in which we have kept records of and we have camera recordings of you signing the check. For that reason, we are not refunding you back your dinner and you are no longer welcome at our establishment. I'm sorry about your personal hardships, but do not ever accuse my restaurant of "being unfair and unethical". If you are seriously experiencing financial hardships, I would recommend not going out in the first place such as "Miller's Pub" or our restaurant for that matter. Our check averages per guest have never been a surprise to anyone,

Sad to say this was not the best experience. Service was okay and food was over priced. My fries were incredibly over salted. Not sure how the restaurant is managed, but every time we come in, it seems as though there’s a new head chef.

Cauliflower in a Caesar salad. What a fabulous idea. Unique. Texture difference to a crispy romaine was great. I’d go back for the salad alone. Kobacha toast was also unique and had wonderful textures. I’ll eat it again as well. Steak was cooked as ordered and dipping the excellent frites in the sauce was so good we didn’t need ketchup. Wednesday was half price wine by the glass so we took advantage drinking rosé bubbles and still. Scott, our server, was friendly, attentive, knowledgeable and worth asking for the next time. I’m so glad this place is in my neighborhood so I can go there often. Thanks for a great experience.
