First Impressions are everything and the entrance and hallway appeared as a dumping ground of forgotten pieces of a restaurant whose time has passed. Tidy this space. Find another place for storage and add some candles and lighting. New Year’s Eve dinner. 99$ set menu. Cocktails were fine. The sour was good, the peach underwhelming. The service tried hard. The poached pear wasn’t poached and wasn’t ripe. The lobster bisque was tasty with a nice piece of protein. The mushroom arancini was cold. The halibut was very good. But the beef was rare and chewy. The s’mores dessert was basic. While the panna cotta was uneatable. We have walked by this restaurant so many times and finally gave it a try. I wish things had gone better. With a couple glasses of wine our bill was 300$. For that price we need some quality control and better trained staff.

We scheduled our reservation for this restaurant months ago. We specifically wanted to go their after Christmas Mass. We went to Mass but then when we got to the restaurant it was closed even after we confirmed the day before. Simply bizarre and our Christmas dinner was ruined. We called both the restaurant number and the number on the door with no answer.

We went to see the Nutcracker ballet and then ate at Woods. It was a romantic end to a wonderful day. The decor of the restaurant creates a wonderful ambience. The service is top notch. You can tell that there is a lot of training for the assistant servers and professional servers. It is also nice to have a menu with unique choices of Canadian cuisine. Bravo!

Wonderful service for my son’s birthday. We had to delay the time because of driving conditions on the way but they were very accommodating. Very eclectic decor . Great menu. Overall a great experience. Only drawback was that we were seated across from the front door and it got a bit cold towards the end of our meal when numerous other parties were coming in. Would definitely recommend this restaurant.

We booked in advance but had the table in front of the main door. People waiting for their table at our backs and every time the door opened we caught a cold breeze. The main resto has a great vibe and that’s why we booked but we were basically sitting in the reception area. Three of us had the haddock dish and one was significantly smaller than the others… completely noticeable to us but not the staff. I had been there a couple years ago and it was great - tonight was underwhelming.

Fantastic service combined with an interesting menu and easy of talking (great acoustics) made for a really enjoyable dinner at Woods!

Sat at bar. Great service. Had live music which made it fun. Food was tasty and different with gamey meats. Would go back!

took my dad here for his birthday, we got the tartare, fois gras and carpaccio and shared the ragu. it was so good, and they played happy birthday with the live piano which he loved. Thanks for making it so special for him! the staff was amazing especially david.
