Yoshi's has served Japan's best traditional dishes to Bay Area patrons since 1972. The menu highlights artfully arranged sushi, fresh grilled seafood, classic Japanese dishes, and vegetarian fare. Patrons can kick off their shoes in the traditional Japanese tatami seating or dine at tables. Expert sushi chefs create sushi and sashimi to order either in the restaurant or in the jazz house. Start the evening in the cocktail lounge before dinner or have a nightcap after taking in a show in the jazz house.

    We live Yoshi’s for dinner before a concert. The sushi is wonderful and the service is excellent, attending to our needs always.

    We had an awesome server name Summer. Pork Chop was a bit dry...Black Cod was perfect. My man loved the Toddy and Marcus Miller and company were the BOMB.

    Our favorite place for over 15 years. Love the atmosphere, food and of course- the music! Definitely a place to spoil yourself!

    The service was attentive, however the food was nothing special. I suppose the inflated prices are worth the convenience if you’re going to a show, but I wouldn’t go for the food alone—especially given how many truly excellent sushi restaurants one can find in Oakland.

    Yoshi’s restaurant is our go to place whenever we have a show to catch at Yoshi’s Oakland. Good Japanese food and excellent service every time.

    Overall, we had a wonderful time and the food was delicious. Changes in the menu ( substituting wasabi mashed potatoes for bok choy, really?!) caused an eyebrow to raise, but that was about it.
